UK/HVAC Industry – Planning a Sustainable Future

Posted on 1 April 2024
Brass Valve Assemblies

We have a vested interest in boiler and heating industries as a lot of the components we supply go into the manufacture of boilers, heat pumps, ventilation systems etc. We understand that as more focus is aimed on sustainability and the environmental impact of the industry, that designs of such heating systems will have to change, and Chartway can support you in this process.

We can continue to supply and manufacture component parts in a variety of materials, including composites and plastics, to support new boiler and heat pump designs that you may have coming up to meet the government’s targets to become carbon net zero by 2050.

UK Government’s Carbon Strategy

Supported by the Carbon Budgets released by the UK government, UK-wide emissions need to reduce massively in order to meet the 2050 “Net Zero Strategy” to become carbon neutral.

The UK government’s “Heat and Buildings Strategy” plans to phase out all installations of natural gas boilers beyond 2035 meaning the aim is that no traditional gas boilers will be sold or installed after 2035.

New and more efficient domestic and commercial heating solutions will play a big part in being able to reduce the emissions to ensure that the UK meets its targets.

So, how does all this impact us?

The government’s strategy means that there will have to be a natural shift in the market over time; and new technologies and products will need to be developed to support the low carbon models.

We know that a number of our customers in the industry have begun development of new boiler models and heat pump systems already; and we can continue to support with the manufacture, supply, and stock holding of your parts to suit any new designs you may have.

From offshore or the UK, using a variety of manufacturing methods, we can supply parts in an array of different materials (from common brass, copper or steel to composites and plastics) to meet your requirements.
